What is Electric Stimulation?
Electrostimulation therapy (e-stim or electrotherapy) is a non-invasive physical therapy treatment using low voltage electrical currents passed through electrodes on the skin to stimulate nerves and muscles. It is used to reduce pain, prevent muscle atrophy, decrease inflammation, and improve blood flow or range of motion.
Electrodes (small pads) are placed on the skin over a specific area. These are connected to a device that sends safe, controlled pulses that either mimic signals from neurons (to make muscles contract) or stimulate nerves to block pain signals. This is about 15 minutes per session.
How it works?
Pain Management: Treating chronic pain, arthritis, sciatica, and back/neck injuries.
Muscle Rehabilitation: Rebuilding strength, preventing muscle atrophy after surgery, and stimulating muscles that cannot move voluntarily.
Reduced Inflammation/Spasms: Relaxing tight muscles and decreasing swelling.
Athletic Recovery: Reducing muscle soreness and increasing range of motion.
